5th Grade Science

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year at Life School Cedar Hill.  I am delighted to be teaching and look forward to sharing the school year together with my students.  As a teacher, I will endeavor to create an educational partnership with you and your student that will foster courage, determination, and passion for knowledge.  In addition to this, my commitment as an educator will be to provide your student with a nurturing and challenging educational environment that will ensure his/her academic success in 5th grade.
Fifth grade is an exciting year for students.  They are no longer children, but emerging young adults.  The transition from elementary school to middle school is a challenging one.  Through this transition, they must learn to deal with multiple teachers, changing classrooms, increased homework and rigor.  They are on their way to becoming the future of tomorrow.  It is my mission to harvest a foundation for optimal learning and provide experiences for our students to grow.  Sixth grade faculty members work closely to create a strong foundation through which our sixth graders will learn organizational skills, time-management, a drive for high-quality work, as well as how to manage social transitions and advocate for themselves.
I have been teaching for 17 years.  This is my fourth year at Life School.  I graduated from Mid-America Christian University with a bachelors in Christian Education. I am currently completing a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.  I have been married for 27 years and have one daughter who is getting ready to turn 18.  When I am not teaching I love to cook, read, sing, work with crafts, attend church, and spend quality time with family.
If there is ever a time you need to contact me please don't hesitate to email me at
Looking forward to a great year ---------Mrs. Allen
