Mitchell's Bio

Greetings to all. My name is Michael Mitchell and I am honored to serve as the assistant principal at Life School.Cedar Hill Elementary. I am in my 6th year as an educator. Prior to coming to Life School Cedar Hill, I served three years as an Assistant Principal at Life School Oak Cliff Secondary and prior to becoming an administrator, I was a Culinary Arts Teacher at Corsicana High School for two years.

I attended Texas A&M University-Commerce for both my Bachelor’s of Science in Health Education and Master’s in Educational Leadership. I have several certifications that include EC-12 Principal.

I am passionate about serving our campus and will promote a positive campus culture. One of the ways I will promote a positive campus culture is by recognizing individual and collaborative achievements, supporting extracurricular activities, two-way communication, and connecting to student's interests. Our student’s success is paramount and contingent on our investment and industriousness.  Thus, I will vest my time and energy to the success of each student  and will work hard to ensure that each student reach their full potential.

Also, my endeavor is to not only serve and support students but all staff. Teachers serve as an integral part of what takes place in the lives of each student. They influence students tremendously. Teachers serve as facilitators of the learning process and impact outcomes greatly. All this while embracing and supporting a positive campus culture which helps to ensure that students feel connected, valued, and safe.Their efforts increase learning opportunities and positive outcomes. While other staff members serve and support in various other capacities but no less important in order for us to conduct our endeavors in a clean and safe environment.

On a personal note, I love spending time with family, friends, and playing tennis.
